Welcome to Jezza Roddy’s Musical Lair!
Jezza Roddy (Jeremy Rodriguez), born in the USA, raised in Texas, and currently living with his wife in her home country Japan, is a composer specializing in combat-heavy compositions for games including, but not limited to, RPGs, beat-em ups, bullet hells, and more! His biggest inspirations come from one of the 3D Sonic the Hedgehog series’ composer, Tomoya Ohtani, a genius composer with SEGA that can combine orchestral and rock elements in the most profound ways.
Jezza is a current member of the Video Game Music Alliance (VGMA) hosted by the incredible composer, Steven Melin, who has worked on Aethermancer and is also the mastermind behind one of the top-selling game music packs, Saga: The Complete Collection, in the Unity Asset store. Another top-level professional Jezza has studied with is Penka Kouneva, who has worked on many big-time projects, including NASA Kennedy Space Center, and even co-wrote the music for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
Here are some games that our composer friend loves to play: Sonic the Hedgehog (all generations), Metal Gear Solid 1-4, Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Tetris 99, picross/nonograms, Mario games, etc.
Thank you for taking time to read this introduction. You can enjoy Jezza’s musical works here or reach out at the contact form.

Below are amongst the things we will discuss upon our first meeting.
Your Project’s Vision
Backstory of game
Influences (games, OSTs, etc.)
Total amount of music (minutes and number of tracks)
Music assets (theme, level loops, cinematics or cut scenes, layers),
Utility-stingers (level win, level loss, death stinger, spawn, transitions),

Important Dates
Overall project deadline
Check-in/revision dates
Demo release date
Of course, any other necessary details will be included in our conversation before we come to a final agreement.
The writing process is fairly simple but very interactive. Each track will begin with a short sketch that will be sent to you in order to verify musical direction. After that, a full rough mix will be created and sent by the agreed upon check-in date. Lastly, a final mix will be delivered with any adjustments if they are needed.

Pricing is generally based on a “per-minute” rate. However, I also offer special pricing for multiple-music track packages and full OSTs.
To keep things simple, the format of payment will be half upfront, and half upon delivery.
